Handprint Art

Is there anything cuter than your little one's hand print?  Looking back and seeing how small they once were is so sweet.  Here are a few cute ones I found that I'm going to have to try with Carter.

Maybe one last Halloween craft?

One Month to Win It

Hi Everyone! I'm really excited to say, I am part of the One Month to Win It crafting competition!  Go here to check out all the contestants and more about the competition.

It is such an amazingly talented group of ladies, and I'm so pumped to be a part of that group! Which makes me nervous at the same time because they are so talented!  EEK!
The actual season of the competition starts in November and the first round is Krylon spray paint.   So...with that, the possibilities are endless! My head is spinning on what to do, I better narrow it down before the deadline! ;) haha.   I hope you go check it out and vote, all entries will be anonymous and I can't give any hints to my project, but if I love it I'm sure you will too!
I'll be keeping you posted

Halloween Countdown

Since Halloween is right around the corner, I wanted to share this Halloween Countdown I made last year!

I love Hobby Lobby's unfinished wood section, they have so many things that can be painted and made into your own creations!  This is where I got the block set for my countdown.

I painted the unfinished set black and added Halloween scrapbook paper to all sides.

Instead of cutting the squares I tore them to give it a more roughed up feel.

Tip: I'm not good at numbers AT ALL, I feel like such a bonehead because it took me forever to figure out how to get the numbers on the block so that every day could be represented! LOL
SO, I'm going to pretend that I'm not the ONLY one, and hopefully help someone else out :)
For one block I did 0,1,2,3,4,5  AND the other block 0,1,2,6,7,8 Six will act as 9.

There you have it, Halloween Countdown!  It might be too late to start your countdown for Halloween, but this will be great for Christmas too!

felt necklace

I had a ton of felt left over from my OU Wreath, so I made this pom pom necklace.  It was a perfect accessory for this weekends game!! :)

Here is an awesome tutorial for a pom pom necklace from Little Miss Momma.  It doesn't take much to make these and I love how they look, I'll definitely be making more!

September Review

September flew by! I can't believe it is already October, I feel like we were just planning our summer vacation!  We had a great start to fall with lots of celebrations.  Almost every weekend we had something going on, it was fun spending so much time with our family and friends.
The first of the month we celebrated my bro-in-laws 40th birthday.  I was really excited when my sister asked me to make him a cake, since he is a big Nebraska fan we thought this would be perfect! I love how it came out!  I made a stencil for the letters and used them to cut the fondant.  I LOVE making cakes! Some take time and patience (like this one) but to me it's worth it in the end.

The next weekend we headed to Dallas for my best friends bachelorette party.   We had such a great time with each other, and showing the bride to be some love! My friend Alli made the adorable cookies, perfect for a bachelorette party ;) I don't get dressed up too much anymore so it was fun to go all out! We laughed a lot and made some great memories!

This was a big month for my little man too, he started school! I was happy for him to have the experience, but sad because he is growing up so fast!  Here he is saying "first day of schooool!"  I was really anxious all day, wondering what he was doing, if he would be okay during nap time, or if he would like being there all day, etc.  But he loved it, and is excited to go! I know it will be great for him to be with other kids and have a structured class.  The first day he got in trouble for running away from his teachers.  lol, no surprise there, since it's his favorite thing to do. ;)  He has gotten the hang of it now and knows to stay with the class. He is just growing too fast though!!

September means Fair Time here in Oklahoma! It is always fun to see the people and eat the food.  I hadn't ever gotten any of the funny fried foods they sell before, so I thought I would try one this year.  I got a fried Snickers and it was deelish! So good. Like a funnel cake with melty snickers inside and covered in powdered sugar.  Carter got to ride a pony too.  We went into a butterfly exhibit with tons of them flying around, Carter is trying to see the one that landed on his back in the picture below. :)  The weather was beautiful and we had a great time going with mine and Jamie's family!

While my sister was in town we celebrated her 40th birthday as well, and again I made her a cake :) I had talked about how I was going to try an ombre cake here, and this is how it came out.  Pretty cute! It was a mini cake and very easy.  If you try to do an ombre cake go with lightest to darkest, I started with the darkest first and had to buy more icing to lighten it up! And, I hope I look as good as my sister does when Im 40! :)

We also celebrated my birthday last week! Busy month!! It was a great one though! Just some more pictures...
Carter feeding the ducks on the canal in Bricktown, all the cousins swinging, Inspirations Tea Room dessert, Pioneer Woman's Tomato Soup, Tiny Marty, Cart in front of the new Devon Tower, sunset, and my two favorite boys!

Most of these pictures were taken with my phone and I'm linking up with life rearranged
